Finding a home tutor usually means a directory that charges the tutor for your phone number, then leaves both of you to it. TutorUp takes the directory out. Parents post what they need — board, grade, subjects, budget, timing — and verified tutors nearby answer them directly.
Verification first
Every tutor clears a short verification call before their profile goes live. It is a small amount of friction in exactly the right place: parents are handing over their home address and their child's afternoons, so an unverified listing is worth less than no listing.
Distance that means something
Matching runs on real distance, not a city-wide dropdown. A tutor within five kilometres will actually show up on a Tuesday evening; one across town won't, whatever the profile says. Ratings come only from parents who booked, so the reviews describe classes that happened.
Nobody pays to be introduced
There are no lead fees and no commission on classes. Fees are negotiated directly between the parent and the tutor, and the platform stays out of it. It installs from the browser to the home screen, so there is no app store in the way either.
